Grandma's Chocolate Cake

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. cocoa
2 eggs
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking powder
1 T. vanilla
1 c. sour milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and beat for 3 minutes. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
